The house is perfect as a home from home. The location is private, set in the countryside surrounded by vineyards and Sunflower fields. Only a short drive away is the beautiful town of Eymet and also Bergerac. The house has lots of space and the kitchen is well stocked with everything you need for meal preparation. There are two living rooms, one upstairs, one downstairs! There is air conditioning in the upstairs bedrooms and living room. The pool is well maintained and has a beautiful outlook being at the rear of the property. The pool also illuminated by underwater LED lights and really is perfect for a family holiday. Communication with the owners and the House Manager was excellent. We would definitely consider retuning to this wonderful house.  (taken from Vrbo.com)

We’ve had a wonderful stay, the house is perfect although the pool could have been a little warmer!  We all (adults/kids & 4-legged friends) had a brilliant week exploring the area.  Chateau de Bridoire, Monbazillac, Eymet, Issigeac, canoeing on a very busy Dordogne, enjoying the local walks & local wines too.  Lovely area and brilliant holiday house.  Thank you for letting us use your home.

A fantastic stay at La Roche – thank you Tim and Jenny for lending us your beautiful house!  We have had a heatwave, sometimes over 40 on the thermometer, so the air-conditioning has been really welcome indeed

We had a fabulous stay … house beautiful, the pool fantastic … Poppy loved a big garden to play in.  The area is superb:  lots of lovely villages and lots of circular walks.

… we were treated to a close-up of a beautiful barn owl perched on a fence post, while it scanned for prey … on another occasion, a beaver, near to a waterhole. We look forward to returning again next year to enjoy the comforts of this lovely house in its fabulous setting.

Lovely, lovely holiday – again – amazing weather, wonderful house etc as ever… Made it to Issigeac and Eymet markets, which were v much enjoyed and to Monbazillac where evidence of the Tour de France was still visible (had been in Leeds at start!). Can’t have asked for more in a holiday – so sad to be going home – if a holiday can be perfect – this one was!

What a beautiful house with a stunning pool, it is so peaceful and relaxing. We have had a fantastic time. Pete joked rush hour was here when two tractors passed each other on the road outside the house.

We stayed at La Roche for two weeks in July 2010 and had such a wonderful holiday that 4 weeks after our return we have booked to go back next year. We have stayed in many holiday properties in France and other countries, but have never rented one as beautiful, clean, and well-equipped as this. We felt totally at home from the first day, and although there is a lot to see and do in the area, we were loath to leave the tranquillity of the poolside. My husband was delighted to find a fishing lake stocked with huge carp less than 5 mins away, in the same village as the bakery, and we both enjoyed visiting the vineyards surrounding us. Tim & Jenny were most helpful and we would recommend this property to anyone.

Our holiday in Eymet, near Bergerac was made all the better for our stay at La Roche. The farmhouse was beautifully furnished with comfortable settees and furniture of good quality, the kitchen bright and well equipped with nice crockery and glasses etc., far more than was required. We felt at home straight away. The farmhouse is surrounded by a large garden and open countryside. It was too early in the year to try out the pool but we were lucky with the weather and were able to barbecue. We were travelling with a large but well-behaved dog and were very pleased to be able to rent a farmhouse that was nicely done. The area around Eymet has many medieval villages with wonderful architecture, both Eymet and old Bergerac well worth a visit. Eymet market in the village square on Thursdays a must. Just on the outskirts of Eymet we found a beautiful lake, as usual in France with paths all the way around. On our daily walks we saw Heron, Cormorants, Coots, Ducks etc., let alone the huge golden Carp jumping out of the water. Overall we had a wonderful holiday, and Tim and Jenny were very pleasant to deal with.

We have stayed at La Roche many times over the last few years and have never been disappointed. As a place to unwind after the pressures of life it is second to none. On arrival it is always clean and welcoming. More than enough pots, pans cutlery, etc., all good quality and many little extras that show a thoughtful owner. The pool is great and because it has a good fence around is wonderful for all the family. The surrounding area has many beautiful villages to explore, also shops and supermarket not too far away. Can’t wait to go back!

We booked La Roche last minute after our Greek holiday fell through – and we were so glad. What a find! La Roche is in the most tranquil, private location with a fantastic Pool too. We stayed for a week and had the most wonderful holiday ever. So much so, that we are returning again this year for two weeks. It really does have everything – a large safe garden for children, the pool is great (and also safely fenced), the house is delightful, equipped with everything you could need and lovingly restored. As we flew into Bergerac, we were also surprised to find it was such a short drive from the airport too – very convenient. Highly Recommended.
